Lisa Smothers has been a member of the National FBLA-PBL Staff for the past 21 years.
Before taking the job as FBLA-PBL’s Membership Director, she was employed as a business education instructor in the State of Wisconsin for ten years. She has been involved with Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda for more than 39 years serving as an FBLA member, a PBL State Officer, and an FBLA adviser. During her teaching career Lisa was presented with a number of awards including National Teacher of the Year for Economic Education from the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) in 1994 and Outstanding FBLA Local Chapter Adviser for the State of Wisconsin in 1999.
She received her bachelor’s degree in business education in 1989 from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and currently holds a professional teaching license from the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Education for Business and Information Technology. She is also certified for CPR/AED/First Aid by the American Red Cross.
